No sound on my Imac G5

I've just had a clean out on my Mac, deleted some old programs i wasn't using and ran a permissions repair using Disc Utility. My sound now seems to be screwed. I can play songs on iTunes and movies are fine, but no sound with video games, and tunes on Myspace pages are silent. I did have a bluetooth headset configured for a while and i could hear Myspace music on that, but i deleted its profile from my mac and now nothing. Thought it might be a missing codec (i'd deleted 3ivx so i re installed it,) but to no avail.
