upgrade project for 14" ibook g4

i just bought an ibook g4 off of ebay. with these specs:

1.33 ghz cpu
60 gig hdd
512 mb of ram
superdrive
mobility radeon 9200

i will be using it for school, photo editing, some very light gaming (warcraft 3 or maybe Wow), and a nice chunk of music (10-14 gigs). I have already found deals on both ram and hdds from around the web. the total would be around $250 for 1 gig of ram and a 120 gig 5400 rpm hdd. I am not worried about installing the ram, what worries me is the hdd. i will be recieving the ibook in a week or so and in a few weeks (maybe a month) following i will start buying the above listed components. If anyone wants to walk me through the steps when the time comes that would be great. if you could also recommend a slip case or a small carring case that would be great, thanks.

I decided not to upgrade the Hdd (decided i didn't need some files). I will be maxing the ram though. Got the ibook last night, so very happy with it.

so i bought a nice icon carrying case, a gigaware optical mouse (so cool), and a 4 port usb hub (also gigaware). Now i need to do some under the hood upgrades (ram basiclly)

did you find the info you needed to upgrade your HDD? or were you going to not do that upgrade?

i decided against it unless microsoft makes zunes compadible with Mac OS, i have 14 gigs of music.

no thanks, i like my zune. ipod would be the easier choice though.

Ok i upgraded the ram to 1.25gb the other night and next up is to update my OS to either 10.4 or 10.5. I'll keep ya posted
