MBP USB with Card Reader.

I have a card reader for my MBP and i have no problem with it with my own Compact flash card it read no problem and loads up. But if I put in my Father in law Compact flash card it just wont load up or read. Even thou it works fine on his XP Laptop.

Why is this please?

how big is his CF card? some readers probably dont get along well with certain CF cards, and sizes.
