mP4 Playback Problem in iTunes

Hi,

I know this comes up a lot but can't see any answers, so here is my problem. I have an mP4 file (codecs H.264, AAC). I get sound but no video. I cannot import the file onto my iPod. Can anyone help me out. Frustrating to say the least. I've tried to convery with iTunes it fails.

iPod plays audio but not videos, movies, or TV shows

Unfortunately, that isn't my problem. I can't even get the mp4 file onto my iPod, iTunes playsback with audio, but just a white screen. Same deal when I try playback in quicktime.
