Not having the money to buy a new G5, I'm trying to upgrade this fairly old G4.
I desperately need more storage and a DVD burner - any advice? And how much more RAM ?

I use mainly FCP, combustion, after effects, photoshop.

Any help much appreciated.

Dunno about dvd burner brands, but ...

as far as maximizing speed etc. Get a scratch disk for yer video to capture/edit from. Put as much ram as you can cram in.

That's all u can really do.

As much RAM as you can fit in there (and afford). Sony, Pioneer DVD burners are industry standards (and are often repakaged under "cheaper" brands). Just make sure to get high-quality blank DVD's.
