• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

hi i just recently bought a external dvd/cd burner and it came with toast 6 lite. I have been having fun burning music cd until i tried to burn dvds. i been downloading movies (avi.) files about 600-700MB size files. i can play them through vlc player but my quicktime wont play them. Oh i have a mac os x 10.2.8. When i load up a movie to burn under toast it says unsupported format and cant be imported. is there anyway for my current 10.2.8 or some program that can encode these avi??? if any case i am trying to get this to work without upgrading computer or toast but if i have to i will. Plzz hellpppp!!!:radioacti

Question; you want to burn dvd's to play in your computer or on a dvd player?
You could try burning in toast but not as a video but as data. Avi files can also be played in windows media player (free download at www.microsoft.com)
