I'm used to Firefox on the PC and can't figure out if I can change these settings in Safari.

1. can you turn off the underlining of the weblinks? it's very distracting to me.

2. when clicking an external link, can you set Safari to open it in the same window instead of opening a new window?

1) You can use Safari Enhancer (FREE) to simply check a box to "Remove Underlining of Links"... Otherwise I believe you would need to dig deep into the Resource files of Safari and edit some code.

2) In Safari.. Preferences --> General---> Choose Open links in "Current Window". If you have "Tabbed Browsing" enabled. It will show up as a new Tab in the same window. If you do NOT have tabbed browsing enabled it will just open up in the same window.
