Dreamhost is probably your best bet. Thats what my host uses (I don't pay for it). I just got a domain with godaddy.

How about iSykeMac or something. What are you going to use this domain for?

Well, its good for price, but that's about it. I'm hosted with them now, and I'm tired of the unprofessionalism of the staff, and downtime, and I think alot of the current customers are too.

They oversell their servers, which is why you get so much for so little. So instead of having x amount of people on a server like some hosts, you get x *10 or so, which is ok, aslong as people don't start to use everything that Dreamhost is providing.

If you read their blog.dreamhost.com or dreamhoststatus.com you'll find alot about what people are saying.

Well for your blog you might want to look at WordPress and check out the free themes.

A warning: there are a lot of themes and the Theme viewer over there is kinda wonky at the moment but you can still get to view the themes by clicking Test Run. But if you're picky about how you want your WP installation to look and you want to see all the themes it will take you a while not to mention that themes are regularly added to the ones already there, so...

Find yourself a comfy chair, order pizza and start lookin' at them there themes!

And WordPress is pretty extensible so you could use it for plenty of things.

I use Wordpress, and love it. Its actively developed for, and has plenty of users to ask questions if you ever run into problems.

Photo hosting is a little different though. It kinda depends on what you plan on doing with your photos, ex: photoblog, gallery, fancy gallery, etc

I run a couple of web sites through amhosting.com. They bill me $15 quarterly per site, and you can pay via PayPal if you wish.

Excellent service, excellent people. I've been with them for almost 5 years and have consolidated a couple sites with them that started out at other hosting companies.

No promo codes that I know of, and you get your own ftp.domainname.com address for uploads.

If you want to use me as a referral, send me a PM with your email address and name and I'll send you the referral via their system. Thanks!
