Well it has to have a network name, so you might as well make it something inventive :D
Anything with a network name needs to have a name - iPod's do too (otherwise they'd all be called "Bob's iPod" or whatever).

My current MacBook is called Charlie
My old PC laptop was called Ezmarelda
The family PC is called Betty
My sister's laptop is called "Kim's Laptop" (I didn't set it up :p)

My Time Capsule is called Atticus
My Airport Express is called Rose

My iPhone is called Hermes
My old iPod Touch was called Apollo
Both my iPod 5.5G and my Nano 1G were called Lucifer

We have two Wifi networks in the house, also:
One is a 802.11n network on the Time Capsule - this is called "Airport"
One is a network on a Netgear router - this is called "Bus-Station" because it is slower than Airport :D

your house sounds like BIG FUN!;)

Norwood is a Mid-2010 15 inch MacBook Pro with 10.11.1.
My Power Mac G4 is named Ian Iachimoe, which is Paul McCartney's name backwards on a tape recorder (or so Paul McCartney claims). :)

My iBook G4 is named Mademoiselle Kitty after a line in the Paul McCartney and Wings' song "Venus and Mars / Rock show."

My 4th generation iPod is named Lucy after the Beatles' song "Lucy in the sky with diamonds."

Heh...that reminds me of when my wife named our Saturn Vue last year. We were temporarily living in separate states, and before she moved in to our new apartment permanently, we decided to ditch our existing cars and get just one. (We moved to Chicago, where you really don't need a vehicle to get to most places.) So we opted for the Saturn Vue, but she had to buy it by herself due to our situation at the time. The song she heard on the radio when she drove it off the lot determined the name of the car.

But she didn't think "Live And Let Die" would be a good name, so she named it "Jet" instead. :)

Oh...and her previous Saturn was named "Abbey," after Abbey Road...

Now, to bring it back on topic...already posted about my MacBook's name (which you can see on all my posts anyway), but my 30-gig iPod Video's name is "Smushy" (because you have to smush the songs down to fit 'em), and my wife's 4th-gen iPod is named "Zippy."

Well let me see,

My Media server is named TARDIS
My Kitchen PC is named MRS Smith
My wife's laptop is Torchwood
My 17" Penryn MBP was Multiplicity (Quad-Boot system)
My Storage server is named Googleplex

Then there are all the servers and workstations that I manage. However, they usually have more utilitarian, functional names... Like Office01 or Nursing14L2

"Mac Drunk". Because I use and prefer both Mac tools, and Mac computers. Lame, but that's the name.
