Hey all,

I would like to play Counterstrike 1.6 on my new 2.0GHz Macbook w/ 1 Gig of RAM. I'm thinking of installing Windows 2000 on my system. Does anyone know if this this setup work? Will it run smoothly?

Thanks,
Dan

One can always recommend enough ram!

I'm sure it would run, I don't know how great though. It would probably help out greatly if you were to max out your memory though.

I think you can only install XP or higher either with Boot Camp or Parallels.

I think if you want to play games you have to use Bootcamp. Parallels doesnt like games every one I tried didnt work. Bootcamp worked fine. But in the long run I took them both off to regain some HD space. And I realized how much I hated Windows and spyware and all that junk keeping that side of the system clean for a few games. Thats what the PSP, DS & 360 are for

The integrated graphics might be a problem, i can run some games on my mini fine but half life 2 and counterstrike: source dont run on the built in graphics of the mini or macbook, so watch out for that.

The graphics won't be an issue with CS 1.6... it will definitely run, you just won't be able to max out the settings.

If its CS you are after, then use Crossover instead. The program runs smoothly on my macbook which has 1.83 Ghz, 512 Ram. I have also ran Half-Life two with absolutely no lag.
