iMac and 42 inch LCD display

I have a 20" iMac and I would like to use my 42" LCD monitor as a Display... Is this possible?? If so, how??

You'd first need the mini dvi adapter to send the signal to either standard dvi or vga, whatever the tv has. Then use the display system preference to configure either display mirroring (same image on both) or desktop extending (one big desktop).
