I just discovered a neat trick and thought I would pass it on. If you regularly put your Mac to sleep vs. shutting it down, try this:
Hold down Option + CMD and then, while pressing and holding them, press and hold the media Eject key. Don't press it and let go - press it and hold it briefly until you see the mouse pointer disappear.
Boom! Your Mac instantly goes to sleep! Neat!
