Dragging

I seemed to have lost my ablity to drag my photo's to a folder. I know that I have done this before but now all of a sudden I can't seem to drag anything anywhere. :radioacti Thanks in advance for any help.

I dont know how to fix the moving photos problem...
it could be you are not moving it over the right part of the folder
your alternative choice is to... press Mac key - a and select everything
or highlight the folder and pressed mac key - c and then paste it into the foler mac key - v

I use to be able to slect a pic & then drag it over to a folder but all of a sudden it quit. also the samething has happened with my e-mail as well. I wanted to save a e-mail that I received & have a folder for just that . It won't drag over either. Could I have hit a key that keeps me from doing this or something ?? Will give your shortcut key a shot & see what happens.

I just tried to copy & pate but that didn't work either.
Strange very strange............

Try resatrting the computer? Get MainMenu and run all maintenance. Maybe somethiing's messed up in the GUI.

What mac and OS version are you using?
When did drag and drop stop working?
Have you installed anything recently?
Have you downloaded any suspicious looking files?

I just noticed it tonight.
Have not installed anything recently.
I just tried to install MainMenu & it will not install.

Do you have any crucial work on it? Back it up...
and restore youre imac

I cant think of a logical reason why drag and drop would not work
and the same with copy and paste

How do I restore it ??
How do I back it up.

to back up burn all your data to a cd or move it to a portable HDD
then place in the cd's which would have come with your imac containing os X and do a fresh/clean install... this will erase the mac completely and you will have a new machine, then move the files back onto the mac and all should be fixed

Try creating a test useraccount and seeing if the Drag/Drop issue is prevalant there too....

I just did a reboot & now all is working normal again.
Is there something that I could have hit on the key board to make this quit working ?? Just seems weird to me is all.
