With apologies that this is probably a very elementary question, but I am new to Garage Band.

Our band has made a CD with semi-pro equipment. The result is quite reasonable. Unfortunately there was a time constraint since we needed it for a demo, I was called away on an urgent matter shortly before the session, and was unable to contribute my 2c. Now I have a series of MP3 files to which I need to add another instrumental track.

Can I load an MP3 file into Garage Band and then add another track?

yup just drag and drop the orignal MP3 into a new project, then add a new track as you would normally and your set :)

Good luck!

forgot to mention

to add a track with your project open, you go to the bottom left corner and click on the + icon.

You then choose the correct option and your done :)

Any other questions feel free to ask!
