When you open up candybar it sections the icons general/folders/dock etc. what you do is drag and drop the icon you want used over the icon to be replaced then click apply system icons.

So you find the icons you want and then use the procedure you describe? That sounds almost too easy .. but then we're talking about a mac ... it just works!

BTW, will changing folders still act "animated" after you change them? If so guess I'm getting CandyBar. That DL is just a trial, right? You have to pay $12.95 for the real thing? Or is that more of a donation?

You have to pay 12.95 to use it after 15 days or 25 icon changes.

yes I am doing this but it does not work.

Did you restart after you changed it? Sometimes you may also need to clear some caches (Onyx or Cocktail can do this for you).

I've never had an issue using CandyBar to change the Finder icon.

Yeah it said you have to restart after it made an automatic backup of the icons (or something).

yes and make sure you do not replace your original icons with your new ones or it will be a pita to get back. Read closely when you're changing the icons. :)

you are a stud.. clearing all my caches fixed the issue.. thank you!

I also messed around a bit with shapeshifter. I think I had some settings wrong there for it to work right.

I never tried CandyBar so I really can't tell you, CB. But logically the icons should keep their animation, no? Is there a trial/demo so you could check it out?

Unless someone else knows about this...
