Hello, I have a 500G Maxtor HDD [external] installed on my PC. I need to put some files that I have on my ibook on my PC, so I want to plug in my HDD to my ibook, xfer the files onto it, then replug it in to the PC.

I plugged it into the ibook and it automatically came up, and I can see the files, but I can not WRITE to the disk.

Any idea what the problem might be?

Thanks!

I'd guess that its formatted as NTFS, which Macs can read to but not write to.

Yeah, but you will loose all the data currently on it. So make sure you have another copy of it before you reformat it.
