My finder is not responding and I don't know how to get it to work.
Help me please.

Have you tried rebooting the machine?

Remove the ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and restart.

anytime i try to do something it freezes and i have to restart it

If you can get to it before it freezes, try what Novice suggested.

Try booting in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key right after the chime when you power on. Then try what was suggested above.
