There is nobody with knowledge here and this is not a rumours site like macrumors.com is.

we don't go looking for news on new updates that will occur

I just took a look at what you were reading....They have 1 links worth of information with 18 pages of people just saying what they think (aka useless blabber) If you had looked you would have seen what the supposed updates will be

Dual 1.8GHz G5, 256MB DDR400, 80GB HD, GeForce 5200 Ultra
Dual 2.2GHz G5, 512MB DDR400, 160GB HD, Radeon 9600
Dual 2.4GHz G5, 512MB DDR400, 160GB HD, Radeon 9600

The prices will almost guaranteed be the same as what they are for the 3 models now. There is no mention of superdrive upgrades and LCDs would be a separate update (although there is next to nothing they can do to update them except size)

Also what happen to the 2.0 model?

I would retire the 1.8 model and have the following:

Dual 2.0GHz G5
Dual 2.2GHz G5
Dual 2.4GHz G5

yeah rman is right, mac has always just bumped up their mac line.. they havnt skipped over their previous models.

Example:
iMac 700 and 800
next upgrade
iMac 800 and 1ghz larger screens.

the base model stays.

The rumor I am listening to is the whole April updates.. I believe it has a whole lot of merit and if I was a betting man.. I would bet on it :)

I'm glad I live near a Mac store. I'll post when the rumor is something I tried myself in the store. But what's the hurry? A G4 1Ghz rocks already! :p

I still working on my Ti G4 500Mhz. I could use something faster when encoding DVDs.
