Anyone's Optical Drive Having Rejection Problems?

My book has gotten into the habit of rejecting whatever I put in to the optical (cd) drive. Whether it is pertinent or not, the problem began with a library Audio CD with magnetic security strips on top. I tried reseting the PMU, though I wasn't sure if the process did anything. It didn't change a thing. Any one experienced similar problems? I won't send it in until I'm absolutely sure I have to . I'm a busy student and my computer is second only to my brain in importance to school and life.

Try downloading VLC it's a free download. I had the same problem playing dvd's but when I downloaded VLC the problem was no more. Just google "VLC" and you'll see it. Tell me if it works!!
