I have a copy of Tiger which comes on CDs, not DVDs. I got it specifically because my G3 iMac does not have a DVD drive. When I insert the first disk it opens the contents and I decided to read the "Read Before You Install" document. In the document, it lists a DVD drive as a requirement for installation. I am a bit confused since I don't see why I would need a DVD drive to install the OS from a CD. Should I not bother trying to install it or what?

Its probably packaging from the DVDs. If you have the Tiger CDs, you should have no problem.

Stick it in the drive, and hold down C when rebooting. Then you'll be able to see if it works or not.
