I haven't used this myself but have VLC player which is great for playing all sorts of video files. This apparently allows .rar files to play in VLC. Worth a try, but like I said I haven't tried it myself, this is just what I found.

Well, .rar is a file compression format just like <filename>.zip or <filename>.sit. You can also extract it using Stuffit expander or similar application before playing.
