Vista not playing nice with iTunes...

I just came across this MacNN article, Apple: PC iTunes users should wait on Vista.

Maybe I'm paranoid about the whole M$ scene but this is quite remiscent of the trial from a few years back where the DOJ went after Micro$oft for unfair practices.

It was revealed in that trial, among other things, that Windows 95 had included in it some code to render Netscape and Apple's QuickTime completely unstable. That is the way Internet Exploiter gained the market share it now has (praise tha lord for Firefox now though!...) and wiped Netscape off the map. That is also why QuickTime, even though it has far superior codecs and is cross-platform, has become so rarely used in favour of Windows Media Player and WMA encoding.

And now with their own .mp3 player, Zune?... I dunno I'm bloody suspicious here! :radioacti

Oops! The school bell just rang. See y'all later guys!...

Certainly nothing new here, ms has a long and bloody history of doing things along this line. Their creed has always been if you can't beat them, run them out of business or buy them out.

Bunge springs to mind.

There is a fix on the apple website somewhere, I overheard Japanese staff talking in the apple store but I may have misunderstood what they were saying.

As far as i know that fix is not from Apple nor from Microsoft, it is from a hacker or other third part. Rigth now it wouldn't surprise me if they are trying to block iTunes, they can make up a nice excuse and even blame Apple for not being ready for Vista. Sadly, it wouldn't surprise me either if Apple takes its time to release a fix for this problem.

and I'm quite certain windows fanboys will take aim at apple, claiming that apple don't make their software 'windows friendly'.

MHC - I'm with you on the Quicktime superiority. The HD quicktime movie trailers are glorious :D Even if it's a movie I don't want to see, I'll watch the beautiful trailers :p

Still, it's annoying how the news breaks after it's released. Similar to sony promising all PS2 games will be backwards compatible with the PS3. After PS3 was launched, "oops, did we forget to mention that the PS3 isn't yet compatible with 200+ PS2 games?"
