Help launching X11...

White MacBook with 4GB RAM and 80GB memory + 500GB external hard drive. iPod Classic Silver
I downloaded X11 from the internet (so I can run the GIMP and Open Office). When I try to launch the file it says 'Their is newer software installed on yor harddrive' (or something like that). But when I try to launch the GIMP it says I need to download X11.

I've also checked in Applications >> Utilities and X11 isn't their.
