Haha, I wasn't sure if this were a stupid question or not but I was wondering if there are forms of disk cleanup and defragging of the HDD. I recently did a HD swap on an external and transfered a lot of files to my Mac. I was wondering if I should try to clean it up to make her run smoother. TIA

Cheers,
Scott

The only defragging you can do it with a 3rd party program. OS X is designed to run scripts at around 3AM every day, assuming the computer is not shut down. These scripts clean caches, and will do some defragging of larger files.

Awesome, these Apple people are thinkers!

BTW, where in Central NY are you? I'm in Syracuse myself.
