Hi, My powerbook has become jam packed with stuff. So I'm trying to copy files over to my external HD then delete all the files.
Unfortunately when I restart the laptop the files are still there.

Any ideas anyone, to get rid of them permanently?

Cheers

How did you delete it?

Normal procedure is drag them all to Trash and then from the Finder menu select the "Secure Empty Trash". This will overwrite the file couple of times and free the space.

It sound like you are deleting configuration files.

They are all types of files, from word files, to photoshop files etc.

I thought I'd back everything up on my desktop G4 but it's not registering when I connect it so tried backing everything up on my external but it keeps crashing.

Any ideas why?
