Problem with my function key

I took my macbook back to get a macbook pro, and when I got the new one it acts like the function key is always down. So if I want to use the regular F4 button, I have to press the function key. Is this a setting I can change?

I hate to give you this really generic advice, but I would call Apple or go to an Apple store (if you are close) This sounds more like a hardware problem than a software problem to me. I looked around in System Prefrences, but I didn't see anything that would help you. Sorry!

Yeah, I didn't either. I just didn't want to make the drive as the Apple store is about 30 minutes away with no traffic.
