Since the MacBook uses onboard video what is the highest resolution it can output to an external monitor? Will it output 1600x1200 to a 20in Dell monitor?

Thats cool. I went with onboard video on my new Dell laptop but it can only output 1280x1024. Does Apple have better onboard video which allows it to output a high resolution?

My Macbook drives a Dell 20" external display at 1600x1200. Wouldn't have bought it if it didn't. The old iBooks also had lower external display capabilities so yes the graphics card is probably better on the Macbook than on the Dell.

Not sure where I got that reasoning...but what the heck, the real question was whether the Macbook would drive an external screen at that resolution and it does.

Oh, and it'll let you span it, dual monitor style.
