im new with mac and itunes. i still love my wmp.

i transferred my mp3 files from my old pc to my mac and placed them in a folder on the desktop. i dragged that folder into itunes and it "copied" the songs into itunes. when i search a song in spotlight on my desktop i get two results.

does itunes make its own copy of the song. can i just delete the folder from my desktop that has my mp3s. im still not too familiar with the folder heirarchy and where things go yet. ive only been on this for a few weeks.

iTunes by default adds all music you put into it into the iTunes library in Your User Name/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music

It puts all of the music in an Artist->Album-> Song stucture based on the ID3 tags. You can remove the files on your desktop.
