Yes, the dock is tiny.

I only use the dock for basic things, if I need to launch other applications, I use QuickSilver. I try to keep my desk as clean as possible so I can work.

I loved QuickSilver for a while, then when Apple gave me a replacement iMac I just started using Spotlight to lauch apps and it does the job for me ....
