my 1.42PPC mini came in today, as i was wanting something to put in my tv room, throw all my music on it, and have kind of a media center type of deal.

it doesnt look to shabby. a tad pixelated, but i expected that with the video card in the mini being a tad weak. overall im happy with it, as this isnt my main machine and will be kinda just used as a music player and some internet surfing in the front room when im to lazy to get on the macbook or into the computer room on the imac. thought i would share my thoughts and throw a picture up!

s-video. would i get a better connection doing it another way? my tv has all kinds of different inputs, so thought maybe a different kinda cord would give me a better connection?

you can do DVI or VGA

no HDMI unless you get an adapter which is not worth it if you have DVI as HDMI is similar to DVI but with audio.

What kind of tv is it? Do you plan on having the wires run inside the wall? How far do you plan on sitting away from it?

S-video connections tend not to look so good on larger panels.

If you have a HDMI connection get a DVI to HDMI cable (or DVI to DVI with a HDMI converter adaptor).
If you have a DVI connection get a DVI to DVI cable.
If you have a VGA connection get a DVI to VGA cable (or DVI to DVI with a VGA converter adaptor).

The resolutions on those cables should be a lot higher and if your TV can take it you might even be able to get HD quality.

Definitely get a digital cable of sort sort (DVI being the most straightforward), the quality of the outputted image has nothing to do with the graphics card (better cards really only improve the speed of what's being outputted) so you'll see a definite improvement.
