Hi, external hdd question

Hi,
I'm almost out of harddrive space, I'm wondering how do I set up a external 3.5 inch hdd. Do I buy the regular hdd and enclosure and its ready to go thanks? any info will be greatly appreciated

15in i7 MacBook Pro, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 500GB HD
You can buy a internal drive and enclosure and put them together, or you can just buy an external HD.

StretchR is right.

then just make sure it's formatted FAT32 if you pan on using it with your mac AND a windows pc. but if it'll never see a windows machine, it can be formatted HFS.

note: you can do this yourself with OS X's disk utility.
