How do you keep DVD Player from automatically starting when you insert a DVD?

In DVD Player>Preferences>Player, I have unchecked the box that allows this yet DVD Player insists in starting up whenever I insert a DVD.

This happens with commercial DVD`s as well as home made.

I`d like to launch other applications for the inserted DVD instead of having DVD player take over.:radioacti

I never even looked at this option in system preferences. The answer was there in front of me all along. Thanks so much!

you'd be surprised at just how much control system preferences gives you. Most people seem to overlook it, but there's buried treasure there.

If I want to change something, learn a shortcut, it's usually my first stop.
