I don't know when exactly this happened, but when I download a file now there is no visible download status bar. The file shows up on the desktop but I need to keep checking back on the file size to tell if it's completed in downloading.

Any ideas how to reset the system download status bar?

What tool are you using to do the downloads? Safari? See surfwax95's tip. Some other? Please post here and let us know.

If it is Safari try Command + Option + L. It will pop up the download window.

I thought this was a Mac issue but it actually happened when I installed a Firefox Ad-on. Not that I know it's a Firefox issue I see that when I open Firefox > Preferences the box for "Show the downloads window" was unchecked.

Thanks for the feedback!

Excellent! I'm glad it is cleared up.
