Final Cut: legacy

Could you help me understand the order please, of Final Cut upgrades. I understand that Final Cut Studio is the most current release.

Before this was just Final Cut Pro 5? (and minor upgrades like 5.2)?

So is Final Cut HD version 4.5?

I believe that Final Cut Pro is at 5.1.2. Final Cut Studio contains Final Cut Pro 5.x, Soundtrack pro, Motion 2, DVD Studio pro 4 and Compressor. Final Cut HD is the version before Final Cut Pro 5.0. I have the PowerPc version which is at 5.0.4 and the Intel version is 5.1.2.

You could, but it would be pointless, since you can buy final cut pro with out the rest of the apps, to buy studio and not install the other apps would be a waste of money.

Gotcha. Makes sense. To save disc space though, until you moved some stuff around (i only have an 80 gig HD), you might not install, say, DVD Pro. Do you think that would limit you a lot? Thanks.
