I've been playing world of warcraft a lot, since the expansion came out on the 16th... and so far 3 times this: has happend.

When in fullscreen, when it's happend i have went windowed- and it stopped. A friend suggested it could be the video card overheating, but ive played for way longer before, and have been shutting it down at night. :( Should i be concerned?

i would doubt overheating if you can get it to stop when you change modes.

i'd guess some sort of conflict or corruption maybe?

Stop playing WoW?

Just kidding, in the installation disks you'll find one that says "hardware test", follow the directions included. This will check the RAM and video card for any errors.

If you leave the computer static in OS X, do artifacts appear on the screen after a while?

The screen shot looks like a symptom off a knackered video chip, which may or may not be connected with overheating.

Try Tech tool Delux (free with applecare). I would bet your video ram is acting funny.

is it still just when you're playing the game?

not a bad idea just to give them a ring.

have you tried messing with the video settings in the game, or looking for patches?

you can't play without the latest patch, so thats out.

You can mess with all kinds of video settings in the game, if you turn it all down your FPS goes way up. I have it all at default (which looks fantastic) but i guess i should give that a try.
