I have a Power Mac G5 2 GHz. After installing a 2nd HD I noted more frequent "spinnig beach ball" activity and so took a look at my system.log file in the console.app. The log was showing a number of kernel[0]: disk1s3: I/O error entries. Although both drives seem to be functioning Ok I removed the 2nd HD and reset all systems. Now I see a number of entries in the system.log that report kernel[0]: disk0s3: I/O error. Periodic beach balls continue. Hmmmmmmmm

Does this mean I have caused a problem with my hardware? could this be a software problem? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, George
