Proper name CHORD
anyway the G4 with OSX 10.4.6 has lost its chord/boing at startup.
A coupe of months age it cam back by itself but went away again.

ALL other sounds, alerts and MP3 and all audio media play through the speakers. It is just the startup chord that is silent.
