MAMP and htaccess

Hi!

I'm trying to protect folders on my MAMP server with .htaccess files.
But I can't get it to work!
I tried a million tutorials!!!
The server says the password is wrong!! (the apache log too)

Help!!!

Setting up protected directories under your control panel is much easy than the .htacesses way.

Do you have a hosting control panel you login to set up email address, subdomains, etc..? Every host should have a control panel.

Sorry, I miss understood the MAMP thing.
No Problem.
MAMP is really cool
Check it out

Apache log says:

[Sat Jan 13 18:59:48 2007] [error] [client ::1] user hi: authentication failure for "/Test": Password Mismatch

So he does find the password-file, as well as the username, but the password doesn't work!!!
