Right now, it is 2:46, and my clock says that it is 9:47 AM. I have all the setting set for Eastern Standard time, and I haven't messed with the settings at all since I've had this computer, but in the past week the clock has been messing up. Once I open up the time and date settings, however, it goes back to the regular time. How do I fix this so that it shows the right time all of the time?

thanks

Do you run Windows under BootCamp? If so that is your problem, Windows and Mac use different methods of recording the time, unfortunately there is no way to fix this other than not using Windows.
