Problems with starting computer

Over the last week or so the iMac will occasionally not power up when I push the power button. If I leave it alone and come back to it, it starts. Is this a common problem with this machine? running 10.3.

I've not heard of that one. Your power supply might be going - they cost about £30-£40 on a PC, but the iMac uses a custom one. Does it make any funny noises at all?
