Can someone tell me the viabillity of this.

I am looking to get a auto document feed scanner in order to scan in all my docs and OCR them.

The docs are general household and business docs, is it worth doing this so that finder will find them or would i be wasting my time, as the scanner is going to cost me about £300

I would think it to be a waste of time, personally.
OCR isn't extremely reliable, characters can easily be mixed up or ignored.
Also, why would you want to take information from original documents? If you need to send this information to someone, I would think that including a copy of the original would be easier, more efficient and simply more practical.

Well to be honest I was being a bit TOO organised I was going for the "Paperless Office" :)

But fair comment if OCR is still not up to scratch as you say waisting my time and money.

Cheers
