The percentage of macs to Pcs in my school is pretty near 40%
Everyone has a basic understanding that macs are better than pcs in the lack of viruses, malware and spyware and that they run more stable than pcs.

And I know that if some people had the money for a new computer they would buy a mac.

I wish there was some mac ignorant people so I could laugh at them when they say stupid things.

Man i got a story so one time i was minding my own business using my mac when this guy came up to me and starting saying that windows was better so i stabbed him. After he fell to the ground i just threw him in my trunk drove over to the local river and dumped him off pretty good eh?

as soon as I read 'minding my own business' I could tell it was a fake story. You should have added 'twiddling my thumbs' or something like that ;) You should also have used the word 'like' excessively.

I've had some people claim macs are harder to use. The real issue, is that they're different to use if you're used to windows. It's hard to try to set them straight though, without getting into a debate.

One time, when I was searching for a webcam, my brother went into the store to search for one for me, and asked if any webcams were mac compatible. The shop attendant just laughed and asked "who uses macs?"
Well, if I were there, I would have told him, in full detail;
"The graphic designer who designed the logo for the store, the designers who design all your catalogues, possibly the advertisers who create your TV ads, perhaps even a designer who adapted the store logo to fit on the shirt you're wearing. I also wouldn't be surprised if a mac user designed the packaging for the product I'm holding, and many of the other products surrounding you right now....oh, and me." ...yeah, if only I'd been there.

There are some classic moments here from other members. I'll be laughing at some of them for days.

You'd think with the overly simple, yet memorable mac ads these days that people would be a little more aware. All these people not knowing Apple makes iPods...who did they think makes them? There's many a slap to the face needed there.

And macs now with colour monitors? That's gold, really.
I'd probably collapse laughing if I had anyone say something like that to me.

One of my friends is a Mac fan, one of mine owns an iMac and loves it, but the rest probably think Mac means iPod.

Don't knock it, Ipod is the gateway drug to Mac use, Ipod led to used Powerbook used Powerbook led to new Macbook. :mac:

What I can't stand is being told that since I'm a Mac user, I'm too stupid to use a "real computer" But since my other laptop is Linux which is "too hard for normal people", I'm also a computer geek who uses a system thats only for no life "computer geeks" who use Linux because computers are all they know.

So am I too bright or too stupid? I like that the same person will tell me I'm both in the same conversation. :)

Not quite so stupid, but I'm bored and need to post something.

I was in the Apple store with my best friend, and he isn't ignorant about macs, but kept saying PC's are better for games. Obviously, this is true, but then he said "I don't think I've ever seen a place that sells games for macs!" I smiled and pointed to the back right hand corner of the store (Software section)

"...Oh. Well, I bet they don't have any good games."

*Points to games such as Halo, WoW, The Sims 2, Age Of Empires III, etc.*

"...But I don't see Counter Strike."

okay, i was talking to this guy who was preaching about how good windows was and asked if i had vista?
i responded no i use a mac
and he was shocked and replied macs our rubbish
we were having one of them stupid mac vs pc debates
until someone said macs are better at everything other than games due to the face you have to get the mac versions which dont have such a big library.
He then said he had never used a mac before.
This guy was talking out of his face when he was going on...

It annoys me so much!

Yeah, here's the best..my friend ACTUALLY said this.

Friend: Macs aren't as good as window computers because they can't go to websites..
me: Umm....the computers in the computer lab are macs....they go on the internet
Friend: Yeah, they can go on the internet, but they don't have the internet.
me: I think your confusing the term "internet" with the program Internet Explorer.
Friend: Oh yeah...that's what I was talking about.
Me: You can get Internet Explorer for the Mac. Unfortunately, I don't know why anyone actually uses IE because it's really crappy.
Friend: it doesn't get viruses and mac safari does
Me: Actually, Mac's don't get viruses and PC's and IE are vulnerable to over 100,000 viruses.
Friend: well macs copy window computers they stole spotlight
Me: Mac's have had Spotlight about...3 years before Windows?
Friend: Well yeah but Mac stole aero.
Me: No, the Mac had a very nice looking glossy interface since like...what..2000?
Friend: well... front view copied window media building...
Me: Well, Front ROW came after Windows media center..but it's not like they completely copied the GUI and features.
Friend: well window computers are still better than mac
Me: you're just jealous right?
friend: *admits to being jealous*

Thankfully most of my friends like macs. One of them wants to get one, simply so he can use the internet without getting viruses and play games under bootcame. I've had a couple friends come over just to play with my Mac.. lol. A couple people at work have Macs too.

I just hate it when that one person in class overhears our conversation about computers. Macs SUCK! They don't have any good programs! Photoshop? DreamWeaver? Aperature? Flash? Even your favorite, Limewire and BitTorrent... Uhh... Games! I bet theres no good games! You like WoW? Yea. Sims 2? Yea. Halo? Yea. Unreal Tournament 04? yea. Quake? Yea. There you go. Anything else, thats why they run windows too. The bundled applications are also way better.

Long Pause...

I find it hard to justify why Macs suck now adays.

Can't forget about my Math Teacher. I brought my iBook in so I could do my project on it so I can work on it at home. He was like "You ACTUALLY like those Apples?" Yea. "Those suck. You can't do anything good with them, like games." Theres plenty, and if they suck then why do many professional video editors, photographers, music artists, and so on use them? " Umm, well I haven't found anything good." You can still look at porn, your favorite hobby! He just walked away quickly. That guy ticked me off all year...

iBook G3 - You'll be missed.
People are still stuck on the price too. There is some type of misconception. They think that the mac platform is far more expensive than a PC. In some instances it can be. But if you're building a machine that has the same specs it's going to end up costing you more in the long run. People just dont seem to get it.

Not to mention that with a PC, you'll have to purchase Norton or something similar, but the need for something like that on a Mac is dramatically diminished.

I don't know why but whenever I see a PowerPoint presentation at my school, it makes me a little ticked.

I look around me at all the kids watching this thing, and think "This is probably all they ever have and ever will know. Just Microsoft products."

Sorry, got a little deep there for a second. Just musing, I guess.
