hardware card info needed

Hi, I have a question about my iMac's hardware. I want to transfer my VHS tapes to DVD, and a friend, who uses PC told me that I needed a video capture card, if I wanted to do the transfer on a computer, and that a few Macs/PCs have built-in video capture cards. Is my iMac one of those Macs that have this? It was purchased in September of 2006. It was the 20 inch screen. I will be checking the Apple site, to see if they can give me info on how to know if my iMac has this this card. Sorry if this is the wrong section for this topic, but it does not seem to fit anywhere but this section.
