Alright, this is a bit interesting...

So, I have a G4 400 mhz with an upgraded processor going at 1.4 ghz. It's been running like a champ for many years.
Recently, my computer froze and on the restart I got the dreaded question mark.

After much troubleshooting and cursing, I ended up ebaying another mac g4. Long story short, I ended up using a new hard drive in the old computer. After a lot of switching around, one of the internal drives won't spin, the other one spins but isn't recognized, AND I plugged in an external firewire drive and the computer crashed and now THAT one isn't being recognized.

The disk repair utility is saying that it can't repair them. I use my cpu for business and have been unable to work for a few weeks now because of this. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!

Probably a bad internal ATA bus. Buy a PCI ATA card and continue on.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Any chance of getting the data off of these drives, ya think?

You can probably do that once you get a drive up and running to load OSX, then try and plug in the other drives and see if you can find anything.
