I just installed parallels and windows xp pro. Every thing went well, accept that I get an error message refering to my IP address. I believe it has to do with an NIC. What do I do now? Is the NIC a peice of hardware I must purchase? please help me.

Am only a newb at Mac myself, but if you really want some help from anyone that can provide it, you will have to give a lot more info than "I have an error referring to my IP." This does not provide anyone with even a place to start.

What computer do you have? what are you doing? and when do you get the error message? what is the error message? (yes this means writing it down so you can post it here)
