''This software cannot be installed on this computer'' - tiger install alert.

Hi,

I get the following alert dialogue when i boot from tiger install disk on my macbook - 'This software cannot be installed on this computer'. This appears after i select language setting.

The hard disk is currently formatted with zeroes and is in mac extended journaled.

The hardware test is ''not compatible with this system'' it says (or on those lines).

Verifying disk permissions reveals that there a no valid packages (though i do not know what this means).

System profiler does not say what boot rom version is on the system.

If you don't mind loosing the data on your Macbook, try to do a fresh install. First format the HDD and then try to install.

Did you try everything that was suggested in your other thread on the same subject?
