IP printing on Mac OS 10.4

I am trying to connect a canon imagerunner 600-550 to my mac which operates 10.4. My mac has the driver for the printer on it. I set up the printer with the correct IP address, but it still will not print. It tells me the host is busy. What do I do?

Try using LPR vs IPP.
