How many of you are going to upgrade your ibook (tiger) when leopard comes out? I really want to. How much memory would I really need? Right now I'm running on 512MB and very happy with it.
But..... don't know about running on leopard. I know the best is to get as much as you can.

You could be OK with 512. Tiger was more memory friendly than Panther was and there is nothing saying that Leopard won't be the same. Only thing I am not sure is what the memory usage will be with something like Spaces or any other new features.
