My hard disk is telling me there is roughly 52 gigs of space available out of a 74 gig capacity(80gb). I had it repaired for random shut downs and they had to wipe my drive. Is this normal? I have downloaded the updates and only transfered a 300 mb file onto my desktop from my external hard disk so far. I dont remember having that little space on my very first boot up. Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks.

that sounds right to me, with the OS and all the software.

Of course these days I don't go below 100gb on hard drives. Everything is huge, and it will just keep getting bigger.

Are you sure it wasn't a 100 before?

If you do what eric suggested in his post, from the above thread, you free up some more disk space.
