Analogue to Digital

Can anyone recommened a good analogue to digital video converter? I was going to get the Hollywood Dazzle DV, because of the price and the fact that it did the encoding itself and worked with PAL.

But now you can't get hold of the firewire version and pinnacle have decided to make it sound like you can only use them on a PC.

Am I being daft?

Unfortunately I'm in the UK.

Do you know if the Dazzle DVC 150*will work on a Mac? The adverts seem to suggest PC only to me.
